The Karimikui factory is located in Ngairiama, in the Gichugu division of the Kirinyaga district in Central Province. It is one of three factories that make up the prestigious Rungeto Farmers' Cooperative. Founded in 1953, the cooperative has grown to approximately 3507 dedicated members. Each small farmer receives about one hectare of land to cultivate coffee along with vegetables to sustain their family.
